There Is Only One Plan

You want Frosted Flakes or you want sh*tty generic store brand cereal?

We all have first options for a reason, if it’s what we really want, why settle?

Don’t chicken out — if you want it, go for it.

In case you didn’t realize, we’re talking about Plan B’s.

The only time you might really need a Plan B might be this Monday — it’s okay, it’s Valentine’s day and we all make mistakes (bad, joke we know).

Having a plan B means you expect things not to work out.

When you’re getting married, do you think “Oh if this doesn’t work out, there’s always Becky from college”?

We didn’t think so.

Stop giving yourself a false sense of security — you sure as hell know that you’re not going to be as happy with plan B as you are with plan A. You prioritized it for a reason.

Plan B’s require planning. Planning requires thought and effort. Now let’s get this straight — why would you allocate time away from your initial plan (A) to serve your second (B)?

Give it your all or don’t give it at all.

YoUr EnErGy iS yOur MoSt VaLuAbLe ReSoUrcE — are we starting to sound like a broken record yet? Seriously, how many times do we have to go through this?

If you allocate those resources to your main goal, you’ll have a higher chance of accomplishing it, you can’t afford to spend that on a plan you wouldn’t even be 100% satisfied with.

“But I don’t think about my Plan B unless I have to.”

Wrong — it’s in your subconscious. Deep down, we know we have a safety net, so we’re not going full force.

The fear of it not working out is going to be greater knowing you don’t have a cushion to fall on, which is going to lead to greater results.

Let’s give a scenario:

We’re giving a million dollars to walk on a wire 50 stories above traffic. Here are the options:

Plan A: Walk the wire, if you make it across — congratulations, you just made a million bucks.

Plan B: Walk the wire, but we give you a safety net to fall on. If you fall, you get $50,000 — if you make it across, you get the million bucks.

Plan B doesn’t seem like a bad deal huh? But what if we told you that you’re more likely to get the million without the safety net..

When you treat something as do or die — you’re going to give it your all.

Having the comfort of a Plan B just sabotages your Plan A. Comfort does not equal growth, so enough of this ABC bullsh*t — we’re not here to recite the alphabet .

There’s only one plan and you f*cking do it.

Disclaimer: We’re not saying to go into your plan with blind hopes and dreams — sh*t’s not always going to be easy. There are going to be roadblocks and they’re going to suck, (if there aren’t, you’re not challenging yourself enough). You adapt, not abandon.

Learn to turn Roadblocks into opportunities with our Career Coaching session (2/16). RSVP here.
